Planning a Trip around your Period
The Cosmo girl in me had to write this post. If you know, you know! Planning a trip around your period can be crucial. This is a real thing and you shouldn’t feel bad or extra for doing this! All my ladies know having your period any time sucks, but on vacation…no thanks. The bloating, the cramps, the mood… not a vibe I want. I really just want to cuddle up with my doggie, Charlie and watch bad T.V. I definitely don’t want to carry around feminine hygiene products or worry about springing a leak while I am living my best life. For these reasons I like to plan accordingly. 
Personally for me PMS can almost be worse than the period itself. I try not to plan things one week before I start and the week that I will be completely out of commission. Usually it is not a problem however when traveling with other “girl friends’ ‘ this could be tricky. Luckily the two major trips I have gone on with my girl friends, we have been almost totally in sync with each other, which is kinda cool and makes planning together easier.
I know other people whose period doesn’t phase them and I love that for them. I did find a few great pointers on Acanela’s site should you be up to that kind of added adventure.
They talk about how to confidently travel on your period and I have to say I took some pointers from them too on the off chance my cycle takes a turn and comes at a different time. Most I would add to the first aid kit I recommend to pack. Things like a period kit, the types of products to use, pain relief etc. Check it out!
