Steal My 3 Day Mykonos Itinerary

Unpopular Opinion…DON’T Skip Mykonos!

I am so glad I didn’t skip Mykonos after being intimidated by the party island’s reputation. My all-nighters and party days have come and gone; however, I can still appreciate the liveliness in small doses and from afar if need be. Having been to Greece before, I have come to the conclusion that all Greeks of all ages all over Greece like to party and know how to do so! This itinerary is the best way to spend 3 days in Mykonos, and surprisingly, I had a very calm experience, having gone at the start of the season and missing major traffic and temperatures. It was absolutely epic.

Day 1

Spend the Day Beach Hopping via Water Taxi

This was one of my favorite things to do in Mykonos. Taking a water taxi is the most convenient and fun way to see multiple beaches without worrying about driving anywhere.

They come every 30 minutes and are very easy to use.
My favorite beaches are Platys Gyialos and Super Paradise Beach, but the water taxi will take you to all the most fabulous beaches with a day pass for 20 euros. It’s totally worth it.

With longer days in Greece, you will have plenty of time to explore Chora, Little Venice, and Mykonos Town after a fantastic beach day. The best way is to get lost roaming around Greece’s most picturesque traditional Cycladic villages. You will undoubtedly be in awe of the beautiful bougainvillea, small white churches, colorful windows, doors, and balconies. Just like out of a movie!

Getting Around

We used the local Mykonos bus (2e) from Platys Gialos to Chora and always had the best experience. It was straightforward to navigate, and it added an extra sense of adventure. The last bus is at 12:30a and sometimes later during high season. It took us less than 15 minutes each way. Make sure to check the current schedule when you are there. Also tickets can be bought directly with the driver if you are not at one of the main bus stops which is super convenient.

Catch the Sunset with Appreativos at Scarpa Bar

Appreativos, also known as [Italian-style happy hour], are a must-try in Mykonos. It’s a time to relax, enjoy some drinks, and sample a variety of [small bites and snacks] before dinner.
Don’t miss the vibe at Scarpa Bar. We got lucky without reservations during golden hour. We had the most delicious Aperol spritz and were utterly in awe of our surroundings. The ocean whispering up against the colorful houses and the sun, the most beautiful color of orange, couldn’t have been a more perfect evening. Don’t let the calm vibes at sunset fool you, though.

There is a DJ after dark, and this place turns into a full-blown scene. Stay and turn up, or check out other hot spots in town.

Have a Lively Greek Dinner

Get Dinner at Iterni, a lively [Mediterranean cuisine] restaurant known for its [fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes]. The price range is [moderate], making it a great affordable luxury option.
It wouldn’t be Greece without a lively napkin-twirling dinner, a traditional Greek custom that involves [dancing on tables and throwing napkins in the air]. It’s a fun and interactive way to enjoy your meal and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Dance the Night Away

We came across Scandinavian Bar after already partaking in festivities at dinner. We actually didn’t stay long here because it was so crowded. However, if you came to Mykonos to party the night away, there are so many options!

Day 2.

Boat Day

I really enjoyed Mykonos and wish I had had an extra day or two there. Having visited other Greek Islands, this one just hit me differently.
Day 2 is all about embracing the unique Mykonian experience. It’s Boat Day! A must-do in Mykonos is booking an exclusive boat cruise. It’s not just about the stunning blue waters but also about the opportunity to mingle with other fun-loving travelers, see the island from a fresh angle, and explore beaches that are only accessible by private transport.

Most cruises also include stops at smaller islands and private swimming spots, making it a day to remember. The cruise lasts for [7 hours] and includes stops at [Delos and Rhenia islands], where you can [explore ancient ruins and enjoy pristine beaches]. Most cruises also offer [snorkeling and swimming], and a [BBQ lunch on board].

Dinner and or Dancing

You may want to keep it low-key after a long day in the sun. Having dinner along the water’s edge is always a good move. Yialo Yialo on Platis Gialos Beach. It had delicious food and great ambiance and is on one of the best beaches in Mykonos.
If you’re in the mood for something livelier, Mykonos won’t disappoint. The island is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, with a plethora of clubs to choose from. For a memorable night out, consider visiting the iconic Scorpios or the lively Super Paradise. While partying in Mykonos is not a must, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

Day 3

Beach Vibes and Chill

Now that you have seen and covered the essential things to do in Mykonos on Days 1 and 2, you can relax today. I would pick your favorite beach, take a water taxi, and chill. Enjoy Mykonos in all its glory, with beautiful blue waters, fun beach vibes, comfy sun loungers, umbrellas, food and drink services, and great music. You can’t beat it.

Delos Island

For those intrigued by history, a visit to Delos Island is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, the birthplace of the Greek God Apollo, is a treasure trove of ancient ruins. Embark on a half-day guided tour to explore the house of Dionysus, the Colossus of the Naxians, and the Temple of Apollo, each with its own captivating story.

Final Night

As the day draws to a close, Mykonos comes alive with the vibrant energy at Scorpios. If you’re in the mood for a livelier experience, this is the place to be. It’s the ultimate Mykonos experience, pulsating with energy and excitement.
