Top 10 Things to pack when Traveling.

Not to be confused with my Long Haul Carry-On post, this is a list of my top ten things to pack when traveling. There is always something I am leaving out or could add but I’ll start with these. Most can be found on Amazon!

1. Airplane Foot Hammock

I know you’ve probably heard me talk about this before but airplane foot hammocks are where it’s at!! Having chronic back pain foot hammocks have been a game changer for me. They are literally made to prevent soreness, fatigue, stiffness and totally get the job done. Since I don’t fly first or business class this was a great find. They slip right over the tray table and work when it is closed too. I love that there are also adjustable straps for additional custom comfort. They are also super light weight, small and stow away easily. You won’t be sorry!

2. Packing Cubes

Also something I never knew I needed and now can’t live without are packing cubes!!!It’s like having drawers in your suitcase. Everything is easily accessible and stays neat and organized. It had to be on my top ten list of things to pack when traveling!

3. Snorkel Gear

A lot of the places I tend to visit have beaches or water activities. If that is the case I bring my own snorkel gear! Mainly for sanitary reasons but I also like having my own cute snorkel for the perfect photo! I’m a blogger and I can’t help it!!

4. Water Shoes

Like having my own snorkel gear, the same goes for water shoes! Actually I like to wear water socks. They are much cuter and dainty like. Plus they are quick dry and compact. I like to have my own for multiple reasons… mainly who knows what the heck is at the bottom of the ocean or in the sand. Being barefoot at the beach is so risky… Hot sand equals burnt feet which is not a good vibe. Some beaches don’t have any sand either so it can be uncomfortable to walk around barefoot. Sure, I have sandals but not ones I am willing to lose or ruin in water.

5. Eye & Sleep Masks

Eye Mask for good shut eye while on the plane or for the Hotel. You never know the light situation in your room. Some airlines give them out but they are never a good fit and tend to annoy more than to help.

I also wont travel with out the Grace and Stella under eye masks…No one likes looking tired or puffy in photos, am I right?

6. Quick Dry Towel

If I am visiting anywhere with water activities I will bring a quick dry towel. Not many places have towel service away from the hotels so this is great to have. It can also be used as a blanket if you’re on a boat or it’s windy on the beach. The quick dry towel I use is also made out of a material that sand doesn’t stick to so that’s also a huge win for me and it packs up nicely.

7. Outlet Converter/Adapters

No real explanation necessary if you want your electronics to work however, IMPORTANT:: The purpose of an adapter is to simply help the plugs on your electronics fit into (or more aptly, adapt to the shape of) foreign outlets, a converter’s job is to change the voltage found in an outlet to match that of your devices. Make sure to find one that has both or that your electronics are able to switch voltages. Check out this adapter/converter combo

8. Tote/ Backpack

For excursions and activities it is nice to have something to carry it all in. Generally I don’t bring a purse when I travel. Also great to have in case there is anything you’re bringing home that wont fit in your originally packed suitcase. A fanny pack is also an option. I personally travel with a Dakine backpack that I have literally had since middle school. Its still in perfect condition and has been on every trip with me. Here is one just like it but updated and more chic

9. First Aid Kit

Don’t be better than the first aid kit. There will be a need for it! Hangnail, blistered heels, headache, your period! A small travel size will do but don’t underestimate it. You don’t want to waste time to search for these critical items. Having them on hand will make life easier should something out of the ordinary happen.

Oahu Activities

10. Hats

Yep I am that person in full blown comfy and cozy airplane clothes wearing a  hat. There have been occasions where I pack the hat in my luggage if I am just taking one but some trips one hat just won’t do.

Bonus: Air Tag

Air Tags have made traveling a little less stressful by always knowing where your things are. Especially luggage however it can also be used for added safety when out and about in another country.
