The Best Brunch Spots, Ranked

With no shortages of brunch spots in LA I have rounded up The Top 5 places to brunch at. From mimosas with ocean views to French toast in the middle of a garden these are all places you will want to try!

My Top 5 Brunch spots are my own weekend go to with the girls! When picking a brunch spot in LA you have to check in with yourself and see what vibe you want your day to have first. Is this going to be a bottomless mimosa type of day? Or are you looking for something a little more casual and straight out yummy? I also didn’t even realize how into French Toast I am, until writing this post! I try and go for menu items I can’t make myself or normal wouldn’t indulge in.

Beachside Cafe is by far one of my favorite Brunch Spots. It’s located inside the Jamaica Bay Inn right along Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey. It has such a nice vibe with the outdoor patio looking out to the beach. After brunching and having a couple mimosas, a nice stroll along the water’s edge is always nice. What makes this a true winner though is the food! Everything is so yummy, but I have to rave about their French Toast with Fried Chicken tenders. Wow! Your tastebuds will explode. I am also a big fan of their eggs benedict, however it’s hard to order anything other than the French Toast and Chicken Fingers, just saying. I would highly recommend making reservations as it is a popular spot although I have gone without reservations and only had to wait a short while. Parking is never an issue either.

Met Her at A Bar This is the place to be on the weekends. It’s a small corner cafe with the best brunch with the best and most scrumptious food run by the cutest husband and wife! You’ll notice there is usually a wait for a table but don’t let that scare you, you will understand why at first bite! And the line moves fast. There is literally nothing wrong you can order here either.  I personally am a fan of anything Nutella so the “Oh Wow Crispy French Toast” is my jam. Anywhere else I like to try eggs benedict, which I have at Met Her at a Bar, and they are wonderful, but there is nothing that comes close to that darn French Toast! They are also well known for the Fried Chicken and Waffle Thai Style and that I have seen friends go crazy for.

Bacari W. 3rd is a goodie too. They have such yummy food anytime of the day. The ambiance is very lovey with seating in a quaint little garden that is semi outside, and it is such a vibe. There is also an indoor option, but you don’t get the full experience in my opinion. Their menu concept is tapas style which I am normally not a fan of but you get to try a bit of it all, should you choose. My go to order is the Crab Cake Benedict! Insert drool emoji here. It is so so good. Another win for Bacari is they have a 90 min bottomless option for mimosa, strawberry Bellini, house red, white, & sparkling wines, sangria, sparkling sangria, Bacari beer. I would recommend making reservations in advance since it does tend to fill up quickly on the weekends.

Blu Jam Cafe is in the heart of the Melrose District and a total hipster hangout these days but their Crunchy French Toast is so good it doesn’t even matter. Maybe I should rename this post to the best French toast spots in LA. But seriously it is so good and its their signature dish. Chances are you will likely be greeted with what looks like it will be a long wait but the place itself is pretty small and the side walk is slim making it a tad deceiving.  If you are ok with waiting its totally worth it. Everything on the menu is tasty!!!

Home literally looks and feels like your home…in the best possible way. It’s a super cozy Craftsman Style House with a great outdoor space. The drinks are yummy as is the food. I’ve never been disappointed with the Crab Cake Benedict or the Huevos Benedict’s which has a Latin twist to Eggs Benedict along with a Margarita De Sangre or Cucumber Jalapeño Bloody! Thank me later.

Time Out also has a great recently updated list of Brunch Spots to try in LA. Some of them I have never been to but are definitely on my radar to try. Check out my Top 10 birthday freebies to learn more about what LA has to offer.

  1. Took your recommendation and tried out Met Her at a Bar! Line moved very quickly and the food was delicious. Definitely one of the best waffles I’ve ever had!
